Welcome to Positive Meaning - Research for MSc Applied Positive Psychology
In the experience of a synchronistic event, instead of feeling ourselves to be separated and isolated entities in a vast world we feel the connection to others and the universe at a deep and meaningful level.
Jean Bolen (1979). The Tao of Psyschology: Sychronicity and the self
The purpose of this web site is to study using online survey research the potential to produce a new positive psychology intervention based on reflections on synchronicities to highten a persons sense of meaningfulness in life.
This study forms part of a research dissertation for the MSc in Applied Positive Psychology. Positive Psychology focuses on studying the characteristics of happiness , pyschological strengths and well being, rather than identifying and treating illness.
If you wish to participate in the research study , this can be accessed from the 'Participate in the online study' page.
£5 will be made on your behalf to a local charity working with disadvantaged and isolated people to help them rethink their lives and find new ways forward. This is for every participant that carries out the intervention after completing Survey One and returns to complete Survey Two. The charity web site is www.safe.org.uk
Each participant that completes the surveys will receive an e-mail with the outline of the study results as soon as the work is complete.
